I found a pre war Schwinn US Mail Cycle Truck

Guy is asking $500...Is it worth it? Any of you seen anything like this?

I found one at an auction a couple years ago. The family told me how their grandfather used it for his mail route. The bike ended up selling for more than $700 and it was in need of a ground up resto. I think $500 is a fair price if it is all there.

Sweet! I don't know a thing about pricing 'cept that that sounds fair to me. Old working bikes feel so different than other old bikes.

I'd be all over it if it's close to complete. I think the original basket is a big thing.

If it really is prewar, that'd be awesome too as they started the CT in '39, leaving only '39-41 as the prewar 'truck years.

Thats decent price the owner of the LBS i go to just bought one at the Vancouver swap for 300 or 400 all torn apart.
