work was pretty stressfull today, and i couldnt wait to get home and unwind.
i took a wierd way home and saw a yard sale....at 5:00 on a thurs evening???
i slowed down to look and then slamed on the brakes and maybe laid a 5 foot patch of rubber.
i saw this bike and did want it, but i only had 7 clams in my pocket. i told the guy i was gonna run home(maybe a mile away) and get some cash and i'd be right back. he shows me a couple more bike, but they're 70s and trash. than he says hey, do ya need a bike rack?
no i dont, i'm thinkin' he means a carrier for a car seein' all the other junk in his yard, but i take a look anyhow...
yes he has a nice park tool bike work stand
i tell the guy i'll be back in 20 minutes and i was. i had to talk the guy down just a little, but i put 60 bucks in his hand and came home with these.....i like to think i got a 60 buck work stand(a bargan in my head) and a free bike.
oh yeah...he also gave me a motorcycle windshield. what will i do with it? i dunno.

the bike is really ruff. it's an elgin. who can tell me aprox what year it is?
it's a skiptooth. i would guess it's mid to late 40s.

Cool story man that sounds kinda like my week. I got a park tools stand PCS-10 model Sunday off CL for $75.00 and a Scrambler bmx today for $5.00. I have been cheezin all week over my stand its cool. Its Friday i say lets have a toast to new old bikes and new stands to hang them from. CHEERS

Thats a sweet elgin, those work stands drive me nuts though, For some reason they always pick fights with me and win with the bike falling on the ground lol
