So I was bidding on this sweet-looking black and white '57 columbia mid-weight from on ebay. It looked sweet, and my little brother lives in Idaho so I wasn't gonna have to pay shipping. But within the last half hour, I got snaked. :x Oh well. It's the ones you almost had that keep you coming back right? Just wanted to whine a little bit. If someone here got it, I can't wait to see it...

I was watching that one I think. I almost bid. decided to work on the frame I have instead.

a really good looking frame.

Was the seller Easywind2? Mark is a great guy. He organizes the local swap every year.

I think getting snaked is part of the ebay addiction.

Yeah that was the frame and the seller was easywind. His message confirmed his name as mark, and he did seem like a nice guy. Like I said no big deal, I just wanted to whine... If I really wanted that bad, I shoulda had a higher bid, blah blah blah... I'm sure you all know the story... On to something new that I want. :D

Sniper bids are just a right of passage on E-pay. Sometimes the higher bid thing doesn't work out either. I saw a really nice pair of struts one time, I wanted them badly! No reserve auction, checked it out 2 hours before the end, had not bid as of yet, bid was at $43.00 and had been there for 24 hours or so. So I put in $100.00 and thought Hah, victory is mine! Went back and sat down, ready to make my pay-pal pmt. 4 seconds to go BANG! Winning Bid $100.25 E-mail window pops up simultaneosly "E-bay, you have been out bid" I wanted to strangle somebody! Had to sit back and laugh though, I really did not want to drop a c-note on them. So I just told myself he deserves them, he certainly payed well for them. Later & PEACE!!!

I feel for you bro. Ebay is now all about sniper bidding. What I do now is just place a max bid and just not look at it until it's over. Saves that competitive agro..lol. Sometimes it works out though. The day before yesterday I got outbid on a handlebar stem. I checked the winning bid and it was 24 seconds before it ended. I figured, oh well ...maybe next time. Then I checked my email on ebay and the person that was auctioning the stem sent me a second chance offer on another identical stem for less than what the sniper got it for. Everyone was happy!
