I just noticed

I just changed the pedals out on our road bikes.
I turned the bikes upside down, and noticed that both pedals loosen anti-clockwise, and tighten clockwise.
At least that's "illusion" you get.
I was working from the drive side of the bikes.

The way I always remember is you turn towards the back of the bike to loosen and towards the front to tighten. :wink:

That's a good way to remember it.

Sorry I was not too clear, but I had the bikes upside down resting on the handlebars and seat.
From that perspective, you loosen left and tighten right on both pedals.
I edited the original post to hopefully clear that detail up.

The way I remember is that the right pedal has right hand threads and the left pedal has left hand threads (which loosens backwards) unless of course you live south of the equator. :wink:
