I got this bike today, only because I saw some Campanolo parts on it.
But check this:
- Cinelli - Italy frame, Cinelli "Champion Del Mondo" bars
- Campanolo: shifters, crankset
- Paramount light stem
- Nashbar rims 700 x 25
- Shimano PD M525 pedals
- Shimano Dura-Ace brakes and front derailleur
The only thing is cheap on the bike is the rear derailleur - Shimano Altus A10
serial number: 082
I'm pretty sure the tubing is Reynolds, but the decal is gone.
What are your opinions about this one (including a value, I know the Cinelli frames are expensive)?
thanks, Marius

its a nice bike, its not italian built, just uses cinelli lugs. check out the website. heres a little info from the site..

ESTABLISHEDin 1976, Franklin has built

over a thousand frames. These include singles,

tandems, triples, trikes, small wheel, and an

occasional recumbant or high-wire cycle. Most

work is done "in house", including painting and

polishing for chrome. Actual plating is sent out.

Bicycle frames are the primary work, al-

though over the years, additional offerings

have become a major part of our business.

Other work includes product and prototype

development, jig, fixture, and specialty ma-

chine building. The prototype and machine

building is not limited to just the bicycle

industr

thanks for the info

well i will take a shot at this.
i am not familiar with the brand Franklin
but it appears to have a lot of high end components
in parts alone im looking at over 200 but depending on what works what looks pretty and what does none of the above.
as a whole i would be willing to drop around 75 on it and try to sell it for around 150. with a lil cleaning up.
overall the condition i would say about a strong 8
it has some blemishes but looks great overall.
not sure if that's the value that's just where i would be at with it.
hope that helps
very nice looking bike btw

that bike should have a decent resale value. Vintage guys will want it.

I took contact with the company "Franklin", south of Ohio. The bike is from 1978, probably "Reynolds" tubing.
They made around 1000 plus frames, starting with 1976, all custom. If you look at their frames now, they start from 1600$.
