Double Nickle said:I need alittle help with the history of the 1975 Stingray. Im working on restoring one right now and have noticed its much more BMX based than musle bike based. Ive also heard the 1975 was not a very popular year because of the national outlaw of stick shifters. The 75 did not have the stick shifter that everyone was going after.
Ive also heard its less valueble than every other stingray....True?

Quoting (and replying) because I want to know, too.
I tend to like the Stingrays that slowly evolved into the BMX trend. I know there are a crowd that hunt for those type! I just really want to know if they are worth anything. I dont want to sprnd more on my restoration of my 75 than I could get back from it.ratina said:1973 was the last year for stick shifts. Those are the most collectible because of the cool factor. 75's also had the half rear fender and dipped chainguard. Just cant beat the 60's Stingrays.
Have you seen mine? If so its not in great condition. I get a super deal for chroming so we will see what works out better. But im going to try to save as much as I can. OA baths can work miricals.ratina said:Condition is everything when it comes to those. I'm not sure what a full blown restored one would go for, but I would think you would put way more into it than you would get back. It would be cheaper to find better original parts than rechroming I would think. Im curious to see if you can bring some of that chrome back
Hmmmm maybe in 10 years they will bring what I would like to get for them.Murray-Eliminator said:this will give you an idea of what they bring

Murray-Eliminator said:Yeah you won't get your money back if you restore those. not a big demand for mid 70's Ray's..
