I finally gut the guts to put this wheel on. Cant seem to get it to work
This is my first time using a Nexus hub. The shifter is a stock Shimano 4 speed with long shifter
What am I missing? When I first tired it would not shift stuck in low I turned the adjustment on shifter now it is in high gear
Every few peddle strokes the chain "skips" like a derailleur bike would that’s out of alignment I know the chain needs to be shorter is that the problem? Or is there some simple adjustment with the cable that I can do? Please help

Thanks! Skip

your chain skip and shifting problem sound like 2 seperate things. the skip sounds like you either need to take the slack out of the chain or the driveline needs aligned (use washers to push out your crank sprocket.

as far as the shifting problem, may be a silly question but do you have a nexus axle washer on it, they keep the axle, cassette joint and internals from spinning around in the dropouts

LOL rick you are dead on! I Want to ride NOW!! thanks for your help guys got the chain the right length this morning
will go to LBS today for anti-rotation washers. Also figuerd out how to line up the two red dots.
Thanks again from skip slowly learning in Chicago.

i know this is a silly question but i know u have a 4 speed shifter but is it a 4 speed hub? and yea if you dont have the washers get em before u blow up the hub
