I've had the Schwinn OCC 24" front wheel and tire on my Flightliner. I just went through my pile of junk and found a Sears 'Crusader' 26" tire
that fits the matching wheel on the back. So here's the dilemma, I'm torn between leaving the 24" on the front and leaving the fender on, or keeping the 26"
on there with fender on/off? I'm really leaning towards keeping it as it is in the first picture. Or hopefully I can find a chrome 24" rim to make my right brain happy.....HELP?

Try the 26 without the fender.....flip the springer. It'll lower and stretch out the front.

I saw a beauty like that (yours?) stretched I want to keep the integrity of the lines....plus it's too much work hehe

If it was me, I would tend towards 26" at both ends, like wise fenders, both ends or neither. The original version works OK as well.

I'm thinking if I change it up too much it'll loose the Flightliner 'look' which is the reason I fell in love with it to begin with.....
As far as the fender on the back, the tire is too wide to accommodate it, and that's stayin!

After sleeping on it (not the bike), I decided I'm going on a mad search for a 24" chrome wheel.
I just like how it looks with the fender attached and the white lettering as well. Thanks for your input! :D

If ya really want the Flightliner "look", put the original rear carrier back on. Don't get me wrong, bike looks great the way it is!....But what really defined that bike was the tank AND rear carrier. That's why I kept it on this bike viewtopic.php?f=30&t=13939&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=15 Even with NO tank and NO springer, you now that it's a Flightliner..........Like I said YOUR bike looks great.

I see what your sayin, I sold the carrier so that's not an option. To me I like the sloping line of the new rack against the frame line.
I think the frame, tank, and forks is what makes it a FlightLiner, but that's just my opinion... Thanks! 8)
