well I showed up back home to my parents and dropped by the old shop i worked at and this came in. the guy wouldnt sell it and was paying them to "restore" it. including painting it a solid color.

i hate:
emotional attachment,
painting bikes that still have great original paint

i still cant believe this will get ruined. it just needs cleaned and it would be a cherry (other than the bars)

Apparently, someone :? is emotionally attached to the rusty original paint on someone else's bike.

I just can't believe somebody wants it painted one solid color. The whole design and vibe of bikes like this lends itself to a two-tone paintjob. It's like taking a 57 chevy, stripping the trim and painting the whole thing red. You take away much of the identity. But they own the bike, so...

This bike needs to be stripped down for a new life as an early 60's style California kustom job. Or a full rat job :D

Id just clean and grease the bearings, oil it and add a set of new WW fat daddys and ride it.

Painting it would erase its history...Its only original ONCE.

I wish I had that tank. Check out those indicator lights wired to the switch on the tank.
