So, I watch craigslist pretty closely (multiple times a day for 1-3 areas or more). I look in the bicycle section and the free section, whether I have money or not. I like to keep up with how much things are going for and keep an eye open for a good deal (like all of us).

Here's why I'm an ......

Not until tonight did I decide to look in the "antique" section and search for "bike" and "bicycle."

Wow, just opened up a whole new world. My view was too narrow.

Add the word "vintage" too. That turns up some interesting bikes sometimes.

If you are searching for "bike" or "bikes", you get a LOT of motorcycle listings, so limit the $ amount range from $2 to $200 (or what-ever). That weeds out most of the motorcycle stuff, since those ads are usually for a lot more $$. $1 turns up way too much junk that people don't want to price.

I usually don't search in any particular section, but "all for sale". I get returns from lots of different sections, anything that has my search keyword in it. (I need to remember the "free" section).

I don't think you are an ...... Just a misguided sole with the same sickness we all have. Sometimes it makes your head spin and you can't think straight. An ..... would have never figured it out and for sure an ..... would not be on this forum. Don't forget to put an ad in the wanted section for old bicycles. You collection will grow really fast. Space is your only limit. I know of a collector with bicycles in the bathroom. Thread a roll on the handle bars and bodda bing an instant toilet paper holder with back up rolls to spare. Brillant!

just type bike / bicycle in the search for "All For Sale" you will find them all in all categories. Unlike ebay, if you type Bike you WILL NOT get postings that list Bikes, you have to be specific on craigslist

Craigslist seems like it indexes every word in a listing, (title and description), and as far as I can tell, eBay only indexes the title for search returns.

For those of you using firefox, you can also use crazedlist. It will let you search multiple areas of craigslist listings all at once. :D
