I'm thrifty. If I've got to have new parts, they better be a bargain.

Shipping kills all my deals, even when I have stuff to give away. No one wants anything when they find out how much shipping is. It cost me almost $3 to give away to metal deer tags for holding on license plates. I figured it would cost 48 cents as they weighed under a half ounce. They came back to me stamped insufficient postage. I went to the post office and they informed me because they had the bumps in the envelope from the ball ends of the tags that they had to be shipped as a package with a tracking number. What a crock.

Local USPS has never (and refuses to) put our street (pretty much the whole town) on a mail route. Neighboring town USPS route ends @ our property line. BITD our neighbors and our mail sat on a shelf befind the counter @ the PO waiting for us to collect it (during business hours, of course).
A few years ago they remodeled the PO and added nice new PO boxes. Now we are assigned a PO box # and every year are given govt forms to fill out asking pretty please if we may be given a free PO box (which we do not want) for 1 year. Best part is for natl security we have to present 2 forms of ID - EVERY YEAR!
It's a tiny town (maybe 20 houses). They were studying closing the PO a couple years ago to save money - held a meeting the whole town attended and said close it!:21:
The decision was to cut hours to 8 to 11 am. :crazy2:

That's a perfect example of what's going on everywhere and why everyone must get out and vote!
