I have a cool project Raleigh Hercules bike that my younger son found on Craigslist and we bought for $25.
Since all the period accessories were pretty well junked, we turned the frame into a modern roadster build for my older son to use away at college.
Everything is alloy, all the bearings are sealed cartridge, and every part was sourced on eBay.
$500 bucks and times spent with my boy building the whole bit and the bike is ready to be presented to my other boy.
