Saw this on Craigslist and thought to myself is this worth the lawsuit selling it? He even puts a picture of the warning label....

"Damaged carbon fiber can fail suddenly, causing serious injury or death. Carbon fiber can conceal damage from an impact or crash. If you suspect your bike has been impacted or crashed immediately stop riding. take bike to a dealer."

That certainly looks impacted to me. I'd rather throw it away and not take the chance of getting sued for selling a damaged fork. If I knew a good lawyer I'd buy it just to get rich.....

yeah if its not cracked, a little epoxy and you should be golden.
thats all the forks are, carbon fiber and epoxy.

I'd say they are worth a look. It appears that the damage was from rubbing something. The color looks like a smoooth transition like when you are sanding through layers of paint. If it has a sharp edge like it was chipped off then I'd stay away. You could give it a tap test too with a quater or something. When you tap carbon it should have a sharp tap and if there are disbonds it would have a duller thud to it. Not very scientific but works pretty well on a decent laminated.

Carbon fiber parts are not necessarily ruined if damaged. It depends on the damage and the quality of the repair.

I have repaired many carbon frames and carbon wheels that had small cracks without a single return failure.

Craig Calfee at Calfee Design can repair almost any damaged carbon part of frame and do it the right way.
