Any time that I replace a shower curtain I remove the 1 inch disc magnets from the bottom hem and recycle the curtain as a drop cloth. I keep one of the magnets in the watch pocket of my jeans. I use it when checking out bikes. Is that a steel frame or fork, alloy rims, stainless spokes ? etc Also good for picking up small parts.Does anyone else here carry a small magnet ?

old blown up speakers are another sorce of magnets. ever take a freewheel apart? a magnet is a darn-near must!

Im almost sure that car (hot rods) buyers carry magnets around to see if its an all steel body or fiberglass. Also it can check for bondo. Correct me if im wrong

yup your right, they do.. see if its a bondo bucket. fiberglass panels are easy to tell just by knocking on them

Not a magnet but people laugh because I carry a small cresent wrench in my pocket. Funny how often I use it.

so do i. i have one of those leatherman belt packs that has a pocket for a small mag light. i kept breaking the lights so i stuck a 6" cresent wrench in it instead.

If I go anywhere that might have bicycles for sale (goodwill, antique store, etc) I carry a large adjustable wrench and a tie down strap so that if I find anything interesting I can fit it in the car.

That and my magnet was used to open door... keyless handless entry into door activated by magnet on location at corner of front window... my way in was the small round magnet in my pocket.. old hotrods ... good stuff... 8)

Not in my pocket, but I attach small industrial magnets to my downtubes so my bike will trip traffic lights. Learned the trick from local Vespa club. Works like a charm.
