Is this one of those early collectible mountain bikes?

Rims need to be Araya or Ukai. A good set of rims brings $100-150 on ebay, but hard to see much else for parts. Maybe ask for better pics as those cranks could be something special.

It's not far from me, a little over an hour, and I have family there if I really wanted it, but if there's money in it I'd really like to see somewhere here get it and flip it.

If you've read my posts in the past you'll see that I don't ship stuff, so it's not worth me messing with. Nobody buys locally.

Looks like a mid to early 80s ROSS MTB.

Sweet set of wheels!

I bet they are UKAI 26 x 2.125s

It is hard to see but if I am not mistaken it looks like a Ross mountain bike I had. It was a 1983 Force 1. It was later named a Mt. Hood, due to a trademark issue with the Force 1 name. It was the first mountain bike made by Ross. You can look at a picture and info on it at the Museum of Mountain Bike Art and Technology website. The seat has been replaced on it if it is the Force 1, that is not original. It was a great bike, lots of fun. I traded it for the Ross Mt. Whitney the next year. I still have that one. I wish I would of kept the Force 1.

Here is my 1984 Ross Mt. Whitney, turned into a single speed. I really love these old chrome Mountain Bikes.
