It could save my life, but $200... isn't that a little high for my life?

That's cool, it would be pretty easy to solder in some white LEDs, just getting a clear lens might be difficult, or just hack the lasers off and adapt them to the front of your bike.

I've seen the "bike lane" laser before and thought it was a pretty cool idea. Honestly I'm more worried about whats coming up behind me than whats in front of me at night. No "real" city riding here though in my po-dunk little coal town. Lit up like a firework display sounds like the best approach regardless.

Have you guys seen the stuff like glow candy / monkey lights / anvii wheels ?

I havent checked the prices but I expect it to be silly, seems more fun though, safer ???? who knows.

All the lights, sirens and bells in the world are going to matter, cars have bumpers!

My question would be "Would a motorist actually see the light projected onto the ground?" If they were close enough, the image would be blocked from the view of the driver by the front end of the car. The other issue is that if they're in a situation where they wouldn't notice a cyclist, would they notice the light? "Talking on the phone, texting, playing with the radio, etc)

I have a bike lane light that someone gave me. Gimmick. I dont' see the the front projection working much better. This laser is meant to let drivers know you are in their blind spot. Blind spot accidents are often called right and left hook accidents. These are two of the most preventable bike/car interactions. Cyclist should never ride in a driver's blind spot. I take the lane when I know the car might be turning right and I am going straight.

The best strategy is just to wearing light color reflective clothing and be lit up like a Christmas tree. I run with one flashing light to be seen and one high power light so I can see. Riding smart and predictable is the other big component.

Yeah, flashing lights are great, except one little issue; the police here in New Port Roxy(Richey) are so intimidated flashers are illegal. Yup, bicyclist might start impersonating them and write tickets for real crimes.
I hate this guys but, you have to watch out for motorists, they will not us. In fact, I get told regularly to get out of the road, even if there are no sidewalks!

I'm going to guess 51% of the motorcycles on the road here in Illinois seem to have flashers installed on them flashing day/night. Bright yellow "start seeing motorcycles" banners are 5 a mile too. Law enforcement would need to handle the biker gangs before the bicycle gangs I would think to ban flashing lights in my state.

Wouldnt the forward facing light be alot like those cheap lasers you can get at gas stations just more powerful? Im sure my kids have a few at the bottom of their toy box so I may have to mess around with them
