since the the last time I posted on here. Anyways...I'm looking to get some new faster tires for my Electra RR. I've been looking at some Bontrager Hank slicks. Are they any good? Fast? Grippy? I don't wanna slide out unexpectedly  ...I really dig the red stripe ones but can't seem to find any.

Currently running 2.125 tires which are stock...and that's all I know. I like the look of Bontragers and also the high pressure rating. no Contis for me thanks.

Maybe one of each. 8)

I see your from Dayton.....just find a Trek dealer and they can order them for you. I got a set from Huber Heights Cycle and Fitness on Fishburg Rd. Nice guy that runs it....only took 2 days to get them. You can also order them online from Trek.....same price! I chose to support a local bike shop. They run about $26 each.

They are excellent riding tires......I used them on my build-off bike

Excellent, thanks. There's a Trek dealer down the street from me, Kettering Bike Shop. I'll be hitting them up. HH Cycle & Fitness is still around? Cool...I used to live in Huber about 7 yrs ago.(love the patina on your build btw)

I've had my red line Bontrager Hanks for a couple of years now. I ordered them from Trek online. They are by far the best balloon type bike tire I've ever owned. The lack of tread worried me at first but they hold the road just fine. I've never ridden them in the rain though. If you put 65-75 psi in them it's like riding a skinny tire road bike. No rolling resistance at all. With these tires, my Nexus 7 and the 52t chainring, this old '41 Schwinn heavyweight is really a fast ride. I say go for it! Gary
