Back in July I was in Mission Beach, San Diego CA and got bit by the Boardwalk Cruiser bug. A month or so later my wife brought this 1955 Columbia "Three Star DeLuxe" home from a church auction.
The first thing I did was to have it sand blasted and powder coated, and it soon looked like this. The wheels and fenders are LBS contemporary.
Recently I had the original rims powder coated, and tried my hand at re-lacing wheels using stainless steel spokes. Here it is today with Kenda Flames on it. As you can see by the chain guard, Water Transfer Decals and Powder Coating do not work well together...I'll get that mess off soon enough.
I still have the original fenders from the bike. They're rusty and dinged up a bit, but if I can figure out how to work the dents out, I'll have them painted too.
This is my wife's daily ride(when I can get her away from her kindle).
