Lookin Awesome so far Steve! Tire combo is perfect. I even like the seat that's on it now! I'm takin notes ( :mrgreen: stealin ideas :mrgreen: ) for what may be my nxt project after the build off. Do you know what year your CWC is?? Looks like mine & it's a 46. Can't wait to see the finished product! 8)

Pick: Glad you like the tire combo, the front is for running MTBs fast on pavement
Not sure how the seat is going to pan out yet but glad you like it so far (not Jacked Up :lol: )
Found C01985 on the frame today but need to look it up
It was advertised as Prewar (which one, I'm not sure)
Looking forward to seeing how you put your CWC together

Alright so I played my "easy card" but paid for it
I've got access to a sand blaster lately so used that, then repaired it and again, and again :lol:

So used some 3M dics too. It's really Pitted!!! Believe the paint was sprayed over the rust
Got a lot of work to do but am going to stick this frame.
Going to learn how to make the welds look/work better, no mods, just repair
Here is every step of how rough this thing is

So I think the gun bluing will help to visually even out the many pits (I hope)
It's going to be a rat rod either way
But the frame looks better without the paint

It's going to be a lot of work, but I'm going to "invest" in this one because I think it could be cool
At least everything came apart pretty easy and the rear adjusters are good

Will start on the white Chukkers this weekend, really like the look of Ratina's CWC but didn't want to copy
This is the closest I wanted to get, with a twist Should actually make the tires a little less wide
Not much room left Skipton :wink:

The badge is brass, not sure if it's actual patina but pretty cool

So I better GTB as Jake says, Thanks for looking and all the support, I need it!

I wouldn't worry too much about pits on the frame, that just gives it character! But, what do I know, I love pits, dents, rust & battle scars!

Great progress! :shock: :shock: I have about 10 hours into my frame and 9 of those are sanding (mostly by hand) :roll:

Looks great bare metal 8)

Was putting off the frame for a bit and checked out the seat for anything usable
It's so funny and odd looking I almost like it :lol:

Tore it down with only a few issues, will have to cut the clamp to post bolt

The main mounting pan is shot but could use the other, maybe just the parts :|
Keep thinking of a pan seat like this one (with springs)

Or if I get ambitious pounding something out, really would like to do that (good therapy :lol: )

Thankfully there is an appropriately timed swap meet tomorrow at one of the best shops in the cites, 1on1. They are selling off their their parts/bikes from the basement

Think those were Left Bank, did a comp but can't find it right now

Alright, so I tried a few more things, not final
Got the seat apart and kinda like the way it looks
Unbolted the front spring and it bolts on (needs some help) to the seat post clamp turned 180
Lot more to do and maybe a thinner and longer pan

So mocked it up and I've been looking for a certain style
Still thinking maybe a set of twin post round drag bars mounted on a plate with the truss rods
Until that fantasy happens... :lol:
What do you think of the turned around stem and the truss rod/handlebar curves :?:
Schwinn Breeze stem (same as fork) and VO Montmartre (I think)

They could be a little shorter in the grip
Put the same VO Belleville back on but didn't look right, too flat
Never been partial to turned around stems :|
It's like someone would say "Hey, you put those on backwards"
Different "swing" too

Probably could actually ride it this way :lol:

I like the seat choice, it flow with the frame well.
Light is cool too.
Those rims make it look like whitewalls, which may be cool. The pic is smaller so hard to say.

Kingfish: Thanks for the nod on the seat, Will try to fix the ww picture

So thinking that the stem backwards gives an extra (3rd) curve backward
Want to make a plate to bolt the bars (and the truss rods) to the fork without a stem
Like the look but the execution of the plate will be tricky

What about a straight stem that would put the handlebar in the axle of the fork like on my military bike?

Been thinking about fish-mouthing an aluminum threadless stem
and put a bolt directly through the fork
Shold be able to do without wrecking the threads
Kinda like the positon of the handlebars in relation to the end of the trus bars in the pic
Since you guys do too, I need to shoot for that

There is so much going on with your bike, that I didn't even notice the reversed stem earlier.
I actually like the way teh lines flowed when you had it on.
