JC Higgens...need info

I found frame this on ebay. My questions are... Is this a good starting point? How hard is it to get the parts to finish( need not be correct parts). I want to build a cruiser. Will this work?

That frame is designed for skinny 26 x 1 3/8" rims & tires. You might be able to squeeze a 26 x 1.75 in there, but a full balloon 2.125 tire is a no go. They are cool frames though, but for a cruiser you'd be better off finding something else. -Adam

great for a 3 speed, skinny tire street rat though...

I agree. It's not a cruiser frame. The forks will be a problem also. There should be plenty of standard cruiser frames to pick fom out there. I found a few by asking for old rusty beachcruisers. Many have just been sitting and havegood components once you clean them up.

Thanks for the info guys. That is what I thought the frame was. It is a cool frame and the chain ring is neat also.I have a Schwinn Racer already, so I might keep tinkering with that. The skinny tire cruiser thread has some nice rides for inspiration. 8)

Be aware that this bike has a weird sized head tube, which makes finding a headset interesting. It also has a swiss threaded bottom bracket, so that makes replacement difficult.
