JC Higgins, anyone know approx what year?

I picked this up for $20 out of a farmers scrap pile a few years ago. It has been lawn art for the last few years, but now think it's time to build it into a rat. Anyone know about what year it is? Sorry for the poor quality image, had to use my cell phone cam. 8)

Post up the serial numbers and the brain trust can give you a pretty close date. Guessing from the pic I would say early 50's.

These are the serial #'s I found on the bike, for ID purposes: MOD 502 471501Y & then crudely stamped on it: 121535. Does this give any clues? Thanks in advance for any help!

4715 is the catalog #, I couldn't find an exact match, but found a few close numbers from 1957, I'd bet it's from that year. -Adam

Thanks Adam! I guess that's as close an answer as I can get. Good enough for me though. Doesn't really matter, was just curious. Anyway it's almost as old as me (OLD), so that's cool. About time to get it back into riding condition. Thanks for the info.
