It took a while but I finally got a tank for my Jetflow. I paid dearly, glad i'm making a little overtime. Wouldn't you know I'd get a tank a couple days after mounting a battery box to power my headlight. If all goes well I may have it by the weekend.

Re: jetflow tank finally

I paid dearly for my Colorflow tank when I finally found one in original paint too  Congrats though! It'll feel good despite the sting of the cost. Those Higgins just look right when they're all complete.

Re: jetflow tank finally

Happy for you finding your Tank. Do you have any pictures of your Tank Find? Looks like the people who found these tanks paid Dearly.
How does that break down to dollars or did you trade something for them? Curious after reading your post.

Re: jetflow tank finally

My tank isn't perfect by any means and I paid 200.00 . I went for it because I haven't seen one for sale since I bought my frame in July 2012 and I've looked a lot. It's exspensive to piece a bike together. I should have built a Schwinn.

That's actually a pretty decent price for how many people need them, since they were only made a year or two, I believe. I paid almost double for my Colorflow one  but with all 8 original jewels, that'll happen. Also, the original paint patina matched my bike perfectly so I had to have it. Also, I got a fair price for the rest of the bike so, in the end, I'm still in it for less than what it's worth.

Re: jetflow tank finally

$200 Doesn't seem that high to me..It's a rare tank and also one of the top 3 coolest IMO....
If your like me and don't ever plan on selling yours hell even if ya do sell it that tank will
never go down in value...

And now you a very cool battery box for another bike....

Re: jetflow tank finally

I have to admit it is one of the coolest looking tanks out there with the side intakes. But I fell in love with the Jetflow frame before I ever seen the tank. I like the way the middle bar turns down, it's just different from the other balloon bikes. I just hope I like the tank on the bike, so it doesn't become another piece of wall art like the rear rack has become.

Re: jetflow tank finally (tank is mounted )

Hi guys, I got my tank today. The mail man didn't have it so I had to go to the post office to get it, I wasn't going to wait another day for it.

Not a good idea, when I'm going to shoulder therapy. Just do it and beg for forgiveness later.

Thanks Schwinnray, I'm very happy with the tank. Just need to get the headlight wired in and a horn.
I've dealt with Summit Racing for many yrs.

Re: jetflow tank finally ( tank is mounted )

Awesome!!! Just my opinion, but I think it would look better with a fatter tire up front now...

Re: jetflow tank finally ( tank is mounted )

Thanks Houndog, for the comments. If I were to go to a larger front tire, I would have to change the front rim also. I'm running a flat rim in the back and a drop center rim in the front to give it more of a visual difference between the front and back. Back tire is a 2.35, and the front is a 1.50 I've just always liked the drag race look.
I wouldn't be able to pull a wheelie, with a fatter tire, I can barely get this pig off the ground now.

Re: jetflow tank finally ( tank is mounted )

The Jetflow is built with all vintage parts except for the seat post and the tires. So to complete the vintage look I picked up two Carlisle tires from a couple members. The back tire is a 2.18 Thunderbolt Dart, front is a 1.75 Zepher Flyte. I distressed the paint on the forks to look more like the original paint on the frame.
Here's a few pictures of the changes.
