I'm restoring an old john deere bike. It is a seventies model. I'v been looking for parts but have been having bad luck. I was wondering in anybody knew where i could find some at. It is a 20" boys bike. I could really use some help.

You wont' find to many John Deer specific parts. These bikes were made by other manufactures and share alot of parts with existing bikes. If you can post a picture of your bike and the parts that you are looking for, it would help.

20" frame or 20" wheels? If its 20" wheels, it may not be as old as you thnk, or it could be something somebody made. Pictures would help a lot. Just about every John Deere bike I can think of was a bike made by someone else and branded John Deere, so parts are probably available if we can identify what you have.

The crank moves slow tried some penetrating oil didn't help to much.

Best bet on that is 2 things.

Clean and regrese (or replace) the bearings in the bottom bracket. Standard 5/16" ball caged bearings, same as used in most 1-piece crank bottom brackets. ~$5/pr. You have to remove the chain guard and left pedal to get the crank out.

And a new chain that isn't rusted solid. You can get chains for $10 at walmart (in GOLD). (1 or 3 speed size (they are the same), not 10 speed size)

The hub bearings and head set bearings also need new grease after 40 years of neglect.

Pictures? Well, used to be you could upload lo-res images but that appears to be turned off for now. most of us use a freebie photo hosting site and link to those. But the forum software is getting updated in a couple days so things may change.
