Anytime I talk to someone who lives on a farm or ranch I make a point of asking if they have any bikes on the property, so there is a girl in the youth group who's parents are caretakers on an old dairy, yesterday she called and said there is five old bikes to come and get.....knowing my luck they will be road bikes but I can always hope).....will keep you posted on the pickup when I can arrange.

i, and i think most all of us, have been in your shoes. this happened to me a few months ago with our store's handyman who was never home had 5 bikes for me. now we all here that and fantasize about a dust covered spaceliner (in full trim) with a forgotten about elgin and a schwinn or two in the mix. and thats why they call it a fantasy, but its fun to imagine what "your prize" will be. for me it was a 24" girls roadmaster mtn 18spd, a huffy seqoia girls 18spd mtn, two twinn 20" kent traclimber bikes and finally, an early hp snyder built girls hawthorne cruiser with fenders and chainguard. that made it all worth it cuz i needed a build up project bike for my wife that i am takin gmy time on and plan to have it done by august. and remember, road bikes and 10speeds, in my case girls mountain bikes, still have alot of good parts to part out of them. good luck and let us know what ya get.

you never know it could be a really good find...My best freind had said he had a really old chrome bike in his barn, and it had turned out to be an X26, so you never know...

I pulled my 37 Excelsior out from under a barn, just knocked at the door and they were glad to see it go to someone who would use it (just dont tell them i took the sawzall to it last night)

You should have seen the collection of antique chainsaws in there! had to be at least 10 monsters at least.

In my experience it seems as though roughly 1 in 100 bikes are of any interest to me. I look at several bikes a week. Not to mention the bikes I don't even bother to look at!

Funny, but I seem to keep looking and the same blue Schwinn girls bike. Some days I see it multiple times. Oddly it is always at a different address. Maybe you run into the same bike. :lol:

I have fenders for that one...and I have a Suburban that looks just like that except brown

Well I picked them up, and the list goes Vintage Trek roadbike with the metal badge (I like)2nd is a 20 inch convertable Western Flyer with a cool little nanner seat 3rd is a girls Free spirit tenspeed with the english sized 26 inch wheels should clean pretty nice 4th is a prepink huffy 16 inch girlie with a crazy aqua seat 5 is a Huffy bmx with cool anodized blue wheels will post picks tommorow.
