Just Bought 1936 Hawthorne Montgomery Wards

Bought The bike on Ebay and Had to pick up in LA!! Well worth it because only paid $40.00 !! Great Deal. Does anyone know where I can find a Chainguard for this bike?

Great score at an unbelievable price! These bikes were made by H.P. Snyder between late 1935 and at least early 1940. MW Hawthorne and Rollfast were two of the larger outlets for them but they come branded with myriad badges. Small differences help differentiate early, middle and late versions of the frame. The built in drop stand ears and the standard seat binder mean this frame is later than 1936 and was probably made in 38-39.

Cool bike! That big sprocket really sets it off. It may not need a chain guard.
