Well i've come to the point of needing to finish projects or at least start on some of them I just need the space, and maybe sell a couple that would be nice, what I am trying not to do is bring anymore home as it has become quite the addiction I just came back from my uncles house and he is a hoarder bigtime two of everything ,8 cars that he has to constantly move everyweek or get a ticket, you cant walk thru the front door without walking sideways he has a 58 MGA buried in the garage under clothes boxes ect, lets just say scared straight came to mind. So the plan is to start parting out the junk that I wont build, finding a market for road bike frames (fixie anyone) and actually taking my huffy frames of no value along with the crap next frames to the recyclers I just need a little room to breath or an actual place to work on the bikes....now just to find time.

I tried to do that this week. Decided all the rims I have brought here needed to be gone through. I saved the rusty chrome ones thinking I could sand them and then paint . Well so far I have 9 sets done. The 144 spokes I got lasted about 5 seconds. Got a white set a red set several laced to chrome rims . several black alloy sets. So i'm pretty good on wheels. Now I need to find a way to clean 4 or 5 skiptooth chains. Still havent thrown anything away. :? :? :? Oh but I have my wheel laceing time down to 13 minutes.

I do that EVERY year, about 30 (junk) bikes, ya gotta.....Never fails though, when I need a certain part, I just shake my head, because I threw at least 2 of whatever it is away!

Lol... About once a year I take all my junk parts and frames and build as many bikes as I can and throw them up on Craigslist for a low price and what ever doesn't sell gets scraped.

I think it's ok, as long as you limit your "collecting" to ONE thing!! Having a bunch of bikes and parts isn't so bad, it's when you pile up everything that things start getting weird! (One exception being that guy in Cali w/3000 bikes! Maybe a limit of 100 would be a good idea!) ~Adam

Darn it ! I just got back from my Food Bank shopping spent $4000 of the company's money for 7000 pounds of food and of course had to hit the thrift store on the way back and they had a bike, in the throwaway pile...but they couldn't give it away :? so ten bucks later I picked up a Sterling mountain bike just for the parts Sugino,Dia Comp,araya,...had to do it.

its hard to resist and i have a hard time throwing anything away cuz i never know if i will want or need that part in the future. i have done this especially with wheels and tires. at one time i could stack up all the extra tires i have and they'd come up to my waist, and i'm 6'2". still have about 4 old english 3speeds i havent even gotten to at my other place in dunsmuir, along with more cruisers, a few ten speeds and miisc parts. at least its only bikes.
