Who is familiar with these tires? I had a nice set that came off my electra cruiser. Used them on my klunker, I thought they were perfect for it. Until I guess some cords busted and the rear tire started to tear apart. Not dry rot.
So I bought a new one from Niagra. Both tires have the same size on the sidewall. The new one is 3/8-1/2" narrower, and 3/4" shorter in height.
I contacted kenda guy just out of curiosity. Guy says the replacement tire is the k80. That is the only tire available in the U.S.A., the original tires are k80A, which is an obsolete tire. He said the problem is, or manufacturers can order whatever they want since they will buy so many, but whn you need a new tire, you are beat.
I still don't understand why they make 2 tires with the same tread, same name, same size on the sidewall, but one looks like a middleweight, and one looks like a baloon.
