I did a rebuild thread with a fellow member covering both red and yellow band Bendix Automatics. jerrykr Joined Feb 22, 2010 Messages 2,260 Reaction score 293 Location DFW Area Texas Rating - 0% 0 0 0 Dec 21, 2011 #3 as I remember it, when you backpedal, it shifts to the gear it is not already in. unlike a hub with a shifter, you don't have anything to tell you which gear it was left in. you will find out when you try to take off in the higher gear
