Klunker Run is a ride. It is a themed ride for pre-cursor mountain bikes that were made from re-purposed cruisers in the 1970's. Yes, there were other groups out there in other areas besides Nor Cal that were doing this but the Nor cal people were the first ones to make the transition from these klunker bikes to purpose built "mountain bikes". It's a tired argument that adulterates the fun, let's have fun.
So you get the idea:
If you have not seen the movie yet, it is worth a look.
I do not exclude anyone for any reason from this ride. It is themed, but if you only have a brand new carbon fiber mountain bike you can roll with us, it is no big deal. If you don't have a klunker, a vintage mountain bike will be just fine as well. The goal is to have fun riding.
I made buttons, anyone that finished the ride will get a button. No, you can't just show up to get a button and then leave. No, you can only have one.
Meet point 8:00 AM:
Rain or Shine! Real riders ride in weather!
We ride at 8:30 sharp.
Caballero canyon on the south side of Reseda Blvd, south of Ventura Blvd. Look for the sign on the left hand side, we gather there.
Med skill level ride:
Up the Cab to the Hub junction, back the way we came to the Nike missile base, then we take Farmers for some fun single track, then down the cab again. 12-14 miles, not too hard, mostly fire roads. Nike Missile base has a toilet and water if you need it. Make sure your bike is in good working order, bring an extra tube and be ready to have some fun!!!
