Decided to take advantage of the nice weather.

Figured a coat of the brick would help with attempting some patina.

Decided on the hunter green, liked the contrast best out of what I had.

And then the 6 year old paint can that had been laying in my garage decided to clog and quit spraying. So I’ll be attempting to patina/blend this.

And the reason I chose green!

So the can can tell us when it is time to stop.

Let me guess, the reason that you chose the color is that it matches the christmas foliage under your bench...

I’m hoping my wife lets me put that foliage upstairs soon. She’s the grinch

So I kept debating what this build needed. Broke out the grinder and ruined the paint I had a bunch of time in but I think I like the results. This might have made the bike a keeper for sure

went out to my former employers at this point. My garage isn’t large enough for a fab table. My boss did the welding, I’m glad I left on good terms and still have the access

I was going to wait and reveal this at the end but decided to share.

did smooth it some but wanted it too look like some teenage boy in the 60s was building his bike off his sisters hand me downs. Maybe he was friends with a local shop!

I had 6 sisters so my woods bikes were all built from hand me down girls bikes. I couldn’t weld back then but it was fun!

Wife and kids went too the movies so I had some time alone today.

I love how clean purple power gets bearings! I keep a tool box drawer full of cleaned headset and BB bearings.

Man these grips have had to be scraped off. One of the bars I’m trying.

I think my next trip to the basement bike shop needs to involve cleaning. Yikes! Household projects and throwing together a bike for my sons girlfriend to ride has made a mess!

Yep, making a fake is often harder than one imagines.

Nice drop of red there, should go well with the rust.

First snow of the year and my first snow ride in 3 years!

Finally got some grips on it. I was disappointed to find out snafu is a Walmart brand now but I like them!

Only problem I ran into is snow packing the front brake!

Back home and locked to my back porch after this so the snow can melt this week. Don’t want puddles in the basement! It was fun as heck
