Krate build ??

Hi All, Im planing on building a couple Krate clones but these will be girls frames for my granddaughters. The ? I have is did the Krate use a 26" or 24" springer :?

They used a 24" springer. You will need to use a 26" on girls frames becase of the taller head tube.
The picture is blurry, but on the left is a krate with an original 24" springer. On the right is another bike with a taller head tube and a 26" springer.

8) Thanks for the info, I could use the steer tube from the 26 and forks from 24 to make it right :wink:

You can try that, but I don't think it will work. The spring and retainer will not line up with the part that the spring bolt threads into. If you bend the bolt to make it fit, the action of the fork moving will push the spring and retainer into the bolt and bind rather than running along it.

Didnt think about that, Might just have to go with the 26 forks.
