Hi getting mucked around by local bike shop stated coaster break pads are toast in my Transition klunker back wheel, are new pads available? & or would another brand work in hub?
Thanks in advance for any advice you might have
Dominic.

If I were you, I'd buy a new Shimano CB-e110 hub for like $20 ( http://www.niagaracycle.com/categories/shimano-coaster-brake-hub-36h-x-080g-silver ) , when it arrives, take the guts out of your KT. Inspect the inner surface of the KT shell; some of these are a steel sleeve in an aluminum hub, whereas others are all steel hubshells, but in either case, I have seen the shell fail so make sure it's not cracked/chipped/otherwise damaged inside. It it looks good, take the guts from the Shimano hub, grease'm up good, and re-install the new Shimano guts in the KT shell. This works b/c the inner dimensions (length and diameter) of both hubs are identical. KT may be the ones who build the cb-e110 for Shimano, but they seem to do it to a higher spec, as most of the parts seem noticeably harder in the Shimano hubs.

If the KT shell is toast, you might want to lace the cb-e110 into your wheel, shell and all. I believe the flange dimensions are close enough that you could reuse the existing spokes, but I haven't verified this with real measurements (yet)... just something to keep in mind.

Here's some other ideas, if you're feeling stingier:
