This may be sacrilege, so forgive me ahead of time. :?

I purchased a friend's bike collection yesterday because he was wanting to focus more on his VW Bus and less on old bikes. He made me a very good deal on what he had and even delivered them to me from Oklahoma. I ended up with 6 bikes and one of them was member Justin's (Critter1) "Lackluster" Newsboy Build Off #7 entry.

The bike started in California and then went to Oklahoma where it went on display in a local art museum. After being removed from the museum it found its way to my place in Texas. Surprisingly enough, the only damage the bike incurred throughout its travels was a scratch on the chainguard and the "Lackluster" decals were peeled off by some kid at the museum. Other than that, the bike has remained immaculate and in fantastic condition.

Now here's where the sacrilege comes in. I want to be able to ride the bike and the original set up made it a little tricky for me, so I decided to pull a few parts off of the other bikes that I got to create a more comfortable rider. I swapped out the stem, bars, pedals and seat. The seat is a Phat Cycles springer that is super comfortable and looks really cool too.

Took it out for a spin this morning and it's one beautiful smooth riding bike. Hats off to Justin for building one sweet ride.

This bike is awesome! I was not a member here when this bike was built, but I have admired it sense then.

The bike needed a good scratch on it to take the fear out of riding it. When I bought a new truck years ago, the first thing I did was slide some lumber across the tailgate for the same reason. :D

By the way, the only forgiveness that matters will have to come from Critter1. :|

First , I wouldn't own a bike I couldn't ride . Second , I see nothing wrong with making a bike fit and ride better . I say go enjoy , it's not like it can't be put back the way it was. FatTires.

Changes are both practical and tasteful. That scratch wouldn't seem so bad, but because it's the only one on the whole bike, it reallllly stands out.

that bike still looks as sweet as it did in rrbo7! 8) a really great paint combo that catches the eye. if you got it from Oklahoma, I know which member you are talking about. he tried for about a year to talk me out of full tilt boogie,so he could park it next to lackluster. he was a real character!

Yes...I know that story well.

I told him that folks from Houston can be very stubborn.

The paint is stunning. I haven't seen a flaw anywhere on the bike except the infamous scratch. :?

That was an awesome build to follow in BO7. Glad to see that amazing paint job still looking so good! Have fun with it.

Yep...older saddle that was on one of the bikes already.

Probably came on an older model Phat cruiser....doubt they sell them anymore.
