I know the question pops up often and I know the answer is its only worth what someone is willing to pay on a given day but...
I am trying to figure out what this bike is worth as is and after some resto, it looks to be all there or mostly there.
opinions wanted

This is sad but the bike is really not worth much because it is a girl's bike. I bought one like the one in the pic, less wheelset, for $40 because I needed a fork, truss and badge for a boy's. Restored, still not a huge demand but it might be desirable to the right person except you will still have more into it than it is worth. The rims can be used on a boy's bike, the fork and truss can if cut down, seatpost, dropstand and the front fender will work and that is about it if you get it cheap and want to part it out. Which in that case, I need the rims, rear reflector if it has one, front fender and or just the light :D

Thanks for the input guys , I dont usually mess with hawthornes but my local supply of Schwinns is kinda sparse and even though
its a girlie bike its still kinda cool.

I think its a cool bike, even though its a girls, probably pretty rare too. I say get it, do a cheap resto/cleaning and sell it so someone who will ride it.

if you can get it cheap enough, go for it, also, you might check with Adam @ Collage, he as a girls frame also,

I think I can get a good deal for the bike but I really dont think my daughter would ride it very much, she already has a bike for every day of
the week....none are girls bikes :D just another resto project for the Spring ???? like I need another project.
I was at my buddies shop this week and he was telling me how these bikes were not to popular in the early 40s and how the one he has
was salvaged from the war metal drive, he thought they were pretty rare and worth a small fortune till I told him about how many were
turning up lately. This one looks pretty complete and original and the owner has told me some of the history of the bike so its really a
nostalgia thing for me to have an early aluminum bike, we'll see.
