As some of you have read, and I'll rewrite, I have a Flying Otasco, Some claim its built BY Murray and sold THROUGH Otasco.., others believe its been produced AS WELL as built by the Otasco Corp.

Im looking for a tank to fit it. I have read and understand there are MANY variations of female tanks,
and most only fit the Bike their intended for unless reshaped.

An Original Otasco tank might be asking a bit much, but what else would work?
Has anyone GOT an Otasco female tank for sale?

Any info helps. Thanks a Bunch!

Is that the black and neon green one? Murray all the way! Any '58 or later Murray ladies' tank -should- fit. Murray made bikes for Sears, Western Auto, Gamble's, and a bunch of other stores, but the frames all have those long pointy dropouts. -Adam

so it IS built by Murray? Okay. I understand one of the neat features of Otasco Headbadges, at least for the flying O's, was the O in the wings on the badge often matched the base color of the bike. Mines red, [and yes, the original patina underneath is too].
It sure is the Green and Black. All colors are flat, however, No neons. I've since added a few quirks to it.
A 58 or later tank you say? Im on the hunt as soon as Ive got a little Mad Money to spend! Thank you for that information.

On a side note, Otasco produced, more than one Bike style, [not including the males spacebike version of the Flying O.]
I was looking for bikes like my own in Original Restored condition and came by a guys site, where he had a photo of a yellow "Murray built Otasco Sold Bike] and the badge looked different than Mine, see photo one.
He claimed this bike was made by Murray, sold through Otasco.
The Badge I have, see photo two.[not mine, but like it]. He claims is a badge made and sold by Otasco.

These photos and his leery info made me wonder, thus my above skepticism in post One.

could it just be a different style of badge and they were ALL made Murray and sold through Otasco?

The badge won't tell us much, show a profile of your frame.
"Otasco" is just a store brand, they didn't actually make anything....;)
Well that answers that.

this is mine. I was told late 60's [given the style of badge]. [since removed chainguard, added headlight, license, mock oilcan/folgers coffee tin...etc.. still contemplating bringing out the original red patina underneath*]

I have a Murray tank, and I think that it could very well fit, but I'm not positive. I'd be willing to sell it for pretty cheap.
