Hi
im new to the site ( but have been following this site unregistered for years) im a big bike fan and have own a few rat rods,

i live in the UK and a cheap schwinn replica beach cruiser is the closest thing to cool iv owned, im currently wanting to build a klunker i love these bikes and i live in the peaks which is the ultimate location for klunker fun.

Anyway.... I'm spending Christmas in Vegas and was wondering if anyone could point me in right location to pick up an old frame like the frame on this bike..

Hey man. I live in Vegas and am somewhat new to the bike scene... But there just isn't much around here.

Try craigslist las Vegas first. There are always some vintage bikes on there, but they may or may not be what you want.

I'd also recommend Bike World on Rainbow and Oakie. 702 254 1718. They have a huge selection of new stuff and the best known vintage bike guy in town. He may be able to help you.

Good luck.

This type of frame is referred to as a straight bar frame.

I think the hot ticket would be to buy a frame on ebay and have it shipped to you in Vegas then take it with you. The frames are easy to find, I have a 48 straightbar in original paint that cost me 140 w/kickstand, seatpost and AS seatclamp, 20 more for the badge. I am in So Cal and could ship it to Vegas-takes a day to get it there...pay shipping and 160 and it is yours...see, easy.

thanks! il keep that in mind 12bcruzin, it also depends on if they will let me fly with it? i brought an exhaust for my motor bike from Greece in the summer but they are so relaxed and did not say anything. but im guessing things will be a little more strict in vegas.

although i wont mind actually visiting So Cal. It has a reputation of been coolest place ever in my mind.. so cal speed shop, i have arrogant stupid English thoughts of ppl just cruisin in cal look beetles and 32 fords

That would be close...at least on the weekends but the roads have gotten bad enough that people tend to keep the play cars in the garage and bring them out on the weekends...although there are quite a few using hotrods for daily drivers...dang rebels...it is a $50-100 1/2hr plane trip from vegas to LA/OC or Ontario so something to think about for sure...
