Lead - Based Paint Removal

Hi, I've got this 1946 CCM bicycle that I want to repaint but I'm pretty positive that its got lead based paint on it and I don't know how to remove it safely. Any ideas?

well the easiest way i can think of is take it somewhere and have it media blasted(it might be hard to find somewhere that will do something as small as a bike though...just check the yellow pages and start calling)

Hey, is the original paint too bad to rescue? If so, you may have to use a chemical stripper and personal protective equipment, or bring the frame in to have it media blasted.

Chemical stripper is a safe way because it won't create dust particles, unlike media blasting or sanding.

i agree i would take it to get blasted, its not expensive and its faster.
