does anybody know or seen any leaf springs that are about an inch wide an maybe six to eight innches long an not too stiff. need em for a project i am planing to do. or what can i use that is springy an won't get out of shape? thanks for your help

maybe something for a small buggy or trailer?? We have a tractor supply store that may have something...
 
i would think a single leaf from a light weight single axle trailler and cut it down as needed.
 
monstermetal has some leafs an looks like we can make em to lhe thickness i will need. this is going to be fun.

yeah... we can do it.. No problem.

I forged a new spring for my front end today and am still disappointed with how "springy" it is. I reduced the thickness by half and made it about 4 inches longer and it still only moves about 1/2 an inch with a 200 lb guy pushing on it (me :wink: ) I think the next thing is to build yet another set of rockers with the wheel moved farther forward to give it as much mechanical advantage as possible.
