It's not done yet, but I have a 20" Schwinn Fair Lady that I'm building as a 24" trike.
Personally, if I were to build that 24" Schwinn of yours, I'd leave the paint alone and build it up as a 24" pig/muscle bike. White banana seat, chrome 24" Schwinn Krate springer fork, ape hangers, wide tire in the back and a skinnier tire up front. I think it'd look good fenderless, but I also think it'd be cool if you bobbed the rear fender too. That's a bike with a lot of potential.

some i've done:
Unknown brand of 24" mtb that I rebuilt as a bmx cruiser.
1971 Schwinn Racer rebuilt as a sting ray and a Huffy mtb rebuilt as a stingray style bike. Both had 26" wheels, now both have 24" wheels.
