I got an old broken bike light and I want to put an led array from a flashlight in it. It takes 4 aa batteries equaling 6 volts. This is all well and good but the batteries don't fit in the light. Can I substitute those flat coin shaped batteries? As long as voltage is the same will it work? Also I want to put a 3 way toggle switch on it. Anyone know how to wire one up?

ya, the coin batteries work fine , you could also go 9v with a resistor. whats the third leg of the switch for? :?

One Lights only half the leds the other lights them all
I guess I don't need the half lit thing just an on and off. If I need a light, the brighter the better I guess

BTW, you can get different size and count battery holders at Radio Shack that sometimes fit; ie, 4 x AA for 4 x C, etc. The battery count supplies the max voltage, the smaller size will just provide less 'hours running'.
