The logo looks the same as the brake arms, so I'm assuming the same company?

Cool ad ..... It is the same company. Some of the earlier hubs are marked "Bendix Aviation".
I didn't realize that they were connected with Stromberg carbs though. More trivia facts that I will store away for future reference ( to bore innocent friends and relatives)

Does any one ever call you Cliff?

Ever wondered about the "bendix gear" in a starter ?

I've always heard New Departure was owned by General Motors, supposedly when the coaster brake factory flooded they never reopened as they had moved on to other stuff making them money. I believe Bendix made the brake parts General Motors vehicles at the time and took over the coaster brakes from there on. May just be hearsay though.

Bendix is/was a huge corporation. It was mostly owned by GM and was big in automotive and aviation parts for a long time. Bicycle coaster brakes are a blipp on their portfolio. :)

Everyone helped the war effort in WW2. If you didn't, you were probably tarred and feathered and deported. :p Gary
