...bikes that is. I've been trying to stick to the men's frames, but I'm a sucker for a springer and a big headlight. Today's find is a 1948 Hawthorne Deluxe. All original except for the tires, streamers, and blue dice valve stem caps. Highlights include nice coil springer, Delta headlight with green visor, peaked fenders, skiptooth, and original taillight lens. Probably going to tear her down, clean her up and let the wife ride it. I still like to keep these together/original, but I'd be lying if I said I'd never transfer the parts to a men's frame! :D

That's awesome! Those springers are SO hard to find without a bent steer tube... and I mean bent. I really need to find a set of those trusses. Sweet skirtguards! Cool all the way around.

That is really a looker, great find! An added bonus is that you won't ever have to worry about your skirt fouling up the spokes!

i think that bikes the bomb  :D

Yall know I am known for not leaving any bike untouched ....but if this one were mine I would leave it alone. Clean it up and then store it someplace. Its way too good of an example of a nice original old bike.
