i see on descriptions of bikes all the time that they have "true mags". what makes it a true mag and whats the difference between a true mag and a...i guess false mag?
I think it probably just means that the mags are "true" as in, not bent. ?? I've never really seen that terminoligy otherwise, probably didn't notice. ??
Well I really dont have any clue... So dont bet on anything I say... But "True" mags on a car are made of magnesium which is why they are called "Mag's" in the first place.... I would assume the same holds true for a bike?? Magnesium has the lowest specific density of any practical structural metal. (practical meaning there is $4 worth of magnesium in a wheel and it would take $150 worth of Titanium to do the same job for only a fraction lighter product... Although Titanium is inherently stronger by a big margin)
So if the wheels are metal... I would say they are Magnesium mags and thus "True"..
