Making homemade skip tooth chain?

Have this sprocket off of a farm seed cleaner. About 1/2" wide 17" diameter and cat iron. Has anybody made their own skip tooth chain before?

Go to a salvage yard that has farm equipment. Lots of old planters and pull behind corn pickers had all sorts of strange block chains. I'd bet you could find a chain there. Gary
