I'm doing the DIY method with the white shoe polish. It's working, but DANG it's taking a while.

Just a word to anyone who wants to try this method: Time heavy!!!

I'm throwing in the towel on these. I've been at it for two days now and the tires still look like CRAP. The black color of the tire keeps showing through the polish and it looks horrible.

It doesn't look like a WW. It looks like someone put shoe polish on a tire. No matter how dry the shoe polish gets, the new coat will liquidize the previous coat and merely smear it around and let the black color of the tire through.

I'm just gonna drop the $$ and go for a proper whitewall set.

Anybody know how to take white shoe polish off a tire without using black shoe polish?
