I GOT THIS OLD BIKE TODAY AT AN AUCTION BRASS HEADBADGE HAS MEAD CYCLE CO RANGER CHICAGO USA NUMBER UNDER THE CRANK #114212 WOULD LIKE TO KNOW A FEW THINGS IF ANYONE COULD HELP. ABOUT WHAT YEAR IS THE BIKE WHAT KIND OF LATCH SHOULD IT HAVE TO KEEP THE TOOL BOX CLOSED IN THE TANK. AND HOW WOULD A DROP STAND BE ATTACHED TO THE BIKE THEIR IS NO HOLES FOR A DROP STAND I HAVE A FEW OTHER OLD BIKES THE SAME WAY LIKE AN ELGIN NO PLACE TO BOLT A DROP STAND TOO. OR WERE THEIR A TYPE THAT BOLTED TO THE REAR WHEEL ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT THANKS.....

I imagine it had a dropstand like this, which has built in ears and is indeed bolted to the rear axle. I think I've seen even another dropstand, that incorporates the rear fender's braces as an integral part of the ears. Could be wrong on that though.
