It's really a shame that the girl's bikes get less, even though they are probably in better condition. Most like this one are parted out to complete a boy's bike.
Girl's took better care of their bikes, no throwing them down in the driveway in a rush to get some refreshment and jumping homemade wooden ramps. Back in the 60's, in my neighborhood, we really wrecked some bikes. All the kids joined in for the "Ghost Rider" competition. We would run as fast as you could with your bike and let it go down the street. Whatever bike made it the farthest before crashing won. Then we also played "Bailout". We would ride fast along the curb and bail out into a nice soft grassy yard, leaving the bike to crash. The worst was the contest to see how many flips your bike would do when rolled straight into the curb along the street. One kid's bike did 3 complete flips before landing in a heap on the street. We were cheering along when he turned white as a ghost. It was his Mom coming with a big wooden spoon. He had to drag his bike home. We didn't see him for a couple weeks after that.
