An old carpenter mixes grease with sawdust.
Nothing fancy but after spending a chunk of change truing wheels on three different bikes, shopping for good stands....
I can build this.

MDF and baltic birch. Dial gauge was (is) for my table saw. I glued 60 grit under the gauge stand and right axle stand and used scrap 316 stainless to hold them in place. Works well.

Curbs....

When I laced this fat rim to a disc brake Sturmey-archer fathub I needed a fat truing stand.

This is the welded base from an old crusty La-z-boy recliner chair that I scrapped out for the metal and hardware. The two bent uprights are from an old trailer hitch I had in the 90s.

I’m using a magnetic base dial indicator.

This isn’t the greatest arrangement, but I managed to put it together out of junk I had in about 10 minutes, and it worked.

Here’s a very simple thing. An old wrench that I ground down thin & filed out to fit an old British bicycle.

A special wrench adaptor I made to clamp onto the stationary British BB cup. This was a thick steel bar, cut from an old trailer hitch, that already had a couple holes drilled in it.

All I did was grind and file until I had a proper slot. I made it a press fit, so that when I clamped it down onto the cup with that 10mm bolt, it could not possibly slip.
