What a Great Ride and Nice Bunch of People!
This is Episode 1 because we all got so many great pics
Hopefully other people there will add theirs
I'm starting off with a group shot of the Twin Cities Chapter of RatRodBikes!
So cool that we now have a large group of us contributing to the fall ride

Left to right: Thirstee, RustyK, Chromer, Fat Willy and his Son, MplsCoaster, FIL,
Nickinator's Mom, Nickinator, (and sorry I don't remember last one )
We missed Bogmonster and his family and 2WheelGoods and his son (with his 4 star Higgins)

It was picture perfect weather and about 48 people showed up
My gang was my Wife, FIL, Step son, his Girlfriend and her "Little Guy"

Re: MN Classic/Antique Fall Ride Espisode 2

Thanks Skipton! I like your handle bar shots too!
I did so many shots it was a bit nutty, like you do too

Hey Randy, it sure was fun! You'll recognize the next photos from your TDF ride
FIL did pretty good, he follows well but seemed to get bored some of the time :|
I'll add more pics of him on his thread soon...

Nick, Glad to have you there again and thanks for riding my bike for a shot and comp
Sorry I forgot your action shot in the first episode
IMG_7753II.jpg

Thanks Dogdart, I sure like your ride shots too

IIFIFM: Lots of people thought it that great FIL was riding at 80 years old (Bday 22nd)

Fat Willy: So good I finally figured out it was you by your Huffy El Camino
Your Son sure had a good time with Little Guy!:D

Here you go Youthgeye

Thirstee; Again it was funny we didn't figure out who we were until the bridge
Sure like your CWC! My Wife and me both liked the blue/white checked seat on your Wife's bike

Alright, the Stone Arch Bridge is one of the oldest curved stone arch bridge in the country
Originally a railroad bridge, now only people and bikes :D It's about 75 feet off the Mississippi

So we all parked our bikes and checked out each others stuff. Great light and views up there
hope I won't bore you with the massive amount of pics

My Gang :D

Okay, the big race, so Fat Willy's Son challenges Little Guy to a race
First it was all the way to the end of the bridge
then damped a bit by the grown ups to 3 light poles down. And there off!

They were really booking full tilt!! Little guys was yanking on the handle bars to go faster

Re: MN Classic/Antique Fall Ride: Episode 2

That is awesome!!! I didn't even know they raced. To busy talking bikes. Great to meet all of you!

Re: MN Classic/Antique Fall Ride: Episode 2

excellent pictures and stories as usual. You could never bore me with your stuff.

that Pope is amazing. I would totally ride that if I owned it.

Re: MN Classic/Antique Fall Ride: Episode 2

WOW!
SO MANY COOL BIKES!

Did you ride the Bluebird?

The Pope is SICK! hard tire fixed gear and no brakes!....... Silly hipster

Are there any ugly bikes in Minnesota? :D

Thanks for all the cool pics!

You are so right Dogdart!! I look forward to seeing them all year :D

I'm glad I could get the young ratters racing for you Fat Willy
It was sure fun to meet you and your son :D Think we're planning another ride soon

Thanks Skipton. I'm so stupid and forgot to ask Nick for a ride
Guess that's from exceeding the limit of taking too many pictures
Thought about the 1890s Hipster thing too
There are plenty of ugly bikes but I try not to snap too many

I'll finally finish with the final episode of last week's ride:
So we left the SA bridge and headed back to Boom Island ("boom" to the Paddle boats)
(I'm going to cheat with some from FIL's thread  )
We stopped after an uphill to get some water and get the tandems rear chain back on
IMG_7813II.jpg

Went by the old Grain Belt Brewery
(now owned and very coolly restored by an architectural firm)
IMG_7818II.jpg

Lined up the bikes for the contest
You guys would have laughed seeing me trying to put kickstands on that morning
Ended up with flower pots
IMG_7820II.jpg

FIL got bored but perked up when I asked him which bike he liked the best to vote for
He pointed to his own bike and he said that one :D
23Sep12_118II.jpg

The excitement was getting higher and FW's son was running around
IMG_7822II.jpg

The announcements starts and he names the runners up as the Pope and big radio bike
IMG_7824II.jpg

AND THE WINNER IS NICKINATOR AND HIS ELGIN BLUEBIRD!!! :D :D

"I'm sure glad to see the next generations carrying on the tradition" :D :D
