Your bike looks to be late 40s-mid 50s. If you post up the serial number it can probably be narrowed down to the year. Some members have good lists on Monark numbers.

Someone posted a Monark that color a while back. I think they said it was either a one year only color or a rare color. I wonder if the tea cups on the seat are just polished steel or are they maybe stainless? Don't see any rust on them. Gary

Is that the one that just came off Ebay? I've got the frame and Hornless tank to one in the garage, the fork/fender are toast. Most likely will become a rat when I get time.

Looks like a "Roadster". That was the bike just below their "Super Deluxe" for a while. Nice bike, I love the colors. Reminds me of my dad's '56 Chevy Bel Air.

Monark serial #'s were stamped on an aluminum plate, riveted to the BB. The frame can be dated by the s/n. They only used the plate from 1946-54. In 1955, they introduced a new middleweight line, which replaced all their balloon models. These 55-57 serials are different and to my knowledge haven't been decoded. In late 57 Huffy bought Monark, and following models started as a mix of Huffy and Monark parts, becoming just rebadged Huffys with Huffy serial #s by around 1960. -Adam
